Preschool Math Week 3


Daily Calendar Time

See the overview for Calendar Time.

Here is what to include this week:
What is today's date? Song-- use dry erase marker to write in every day
Days of the Week Printable w/ song
"Today Is..."/ "Tomorrow Is..." Printable-- use with dry erase markers
- Trace the number of today's date on the Monthly Calendar
- Find the number of today's date on the picture and color it.
- "Today's weather is..." & "Today I Feel..." page w/ dry erase marker
- Color one number per day on the 100's Chart
- #3, 4 & 5 coloring/ tracing pages
- "School Rules" and/or "Our Daily Schedule"


Day 1


Decorate the #6 Poster for your Number Book in whatever way you choose!

Complete a Color Collage Craft with scrap paper. Be sure to talk about the name of each color as you use it.

Use these Number Dot Cards with the correct number of clothespins.

Practice tracing & writing #6  with its poem.

Add the #6 Worksheet to your Calendar Notebook w/ a sheet protector and allow child to trace and/or color each day this week during Calendar Time.

Don't forget you can add Big Number Cards to your wall as you learn each number.



Day 2

Paint Sample Color Sorting Game

Play Number Hopscotch. Write each number 1-6 on a separate large piece of paper. Spread them across the floor in random order. Have the child hop to each number as you call it out. Or play music-- when it stops, they must run to the number you call.

Choose a few activities from 3 Dinosaurs' Romping & Roaring #6 Pack.

If your child particularly enjoys worksheets, print some of these Color Recognition pages. Or, go on a Color Hunt around the house, finding & collecting items of a specific color one at a time.

Play this Race to Trace Game to practice writing #'s 1-6.


Day 3

Nature Hike & Leaf Color Sort; Then create a Nature Collage from items collected

Decorate the #7 Poster for your Number Book with leaves from your Nature Hike.

Practice tracing & writing number 7.

Add the #7 Page to the Calendar Notebook.

Day 4


Use Dot Stickers on the #6 & #7 Dot Marker page.

Practice sorting teddy bear counters by color.

Choose a few activities from the Romping & Roaring #7 Pack from 3 Dinosaurs.

Complete the "I Can Make It! Shapes Trace & Color Book" in the Mega Shapes Review Pack.

Mix science with math: Try this Color-mixing science activity
