Preschool Math Week 4


Daily Calendar Time

See the overview for Calendar Time.

Here is what to include this week:
What is today's date? Song-- use dry erase marker to write in every day
Days of the Week Printable w/ song
"Today Is..."/ "Tomorrow Is..." Printable-- use with dry erase markers
- Trace the number of today's date on the Monthly Calendar
- Find the number of today's date on the picture and color it.
- "Today's weather is..." & "Today I Feel..." page w/ dry erase marker
- Color one number per day on the 100's Chart
- #5, 6 & 7 coloring/ tracing pages
- "School Rules" and/or "Our Daily Schedule"




Day 1

Color and decorate the #8 Poster for your Number Book.

Practice tracing & writing the number 8 with the rhyming poem.

Choose a few activities from the Romping & Roaring #8 Pack from 3 Dinosaurs.

Play the "Fill the Dump Truck" Counting Game with Legos or another favorite manipulative.

Add the #8 Coloring Page to your Calendar Notebook in a sheet protector to use with dry erase markers the rest of the week.



Day 2

Color and decorate the #9 Poster for your Number Book.

Practice tracing & writing number 9 with its catchy poem.

Fall Numbers & Sets Matching Game for #1-9

Choose a few activities from 3 Dinosaurs' Romping & Roaring #9 Pack.

Play Number Hide and Seek. Hide your Number Flashcards (or large pieces of paper with one number on each) around the room. Have the child find each one and call out the number as he/ she finds it. Then put them in order!

Complete the #7-9 Four-Part Puzzles.



Day 3


Color and decorate the #10 Poster for your Number Book. Now it's done!! Staple it together and enjoy your handiwork! Use it for daily number review.

Practice tracing & writing #10 with its poem.

Play Go Fish with playing cards.

Play the Dice Number Game.



Day 4

Missing Number Game: Using your own Number Flashcards, regular playing cards, or the Big Cards from this site, have the child place the cards in order from 1-10. Then, take turns taking one card away and having the child guess what number is missing. 

This Clothespin Number Match can be a fun Quiet Time activity for the child to do on his/ her own.

Read the book Ten Apples Up on Top (Dr. Seuss). Print out these apples for your child to color & cut out (or you can cut them for him) and do the activities listed on that site. In addition, if you have number stamps, you could also do this activity (or just practice writing the numbers!).

Practice writing all the numbers on a chalkboard or dry-erase board.
