Passport: Earth: Germany



Day 1


- Locate Germany & its capital on a world map. Color it on your map of Europe.

- Glue Germany country flag onto your passport.

- Learn to say "hello" & "goodbye" in German from Time4Kids website. Add this to your "Say Hello & Goodbye" Mini Book in your lapbook.

- Color & cut out the German Paper Doll.

- Watch this video of fun facts about Germany.




Day 2


- Read about the Brandenburg Gate while you color a picture of it.


- The Brothers Grimm were a duo who documented many of the Fairy Tales we know & love today. They were also from Germany. Watch this video about them, and then read some of their tales from the library.





Day 3


- Read about animals of Europe on pgs. 28-31 of the Animal Atlas. Choose a few animals from Germany from Expedition Earth: Discovering God's Animals to include in your "Animals of the World" Mini Book for your lapbook.


- Try your hand at some of the easy German recipes on this website.

Day 2



- The Leaning Tower of Pisa is one of Italy's famous landmarks. Watch this video to learn more about it:





- Color a picture of the Leaning Tower of Pisa. While you are coloring, listen to some Italian opera.

- Another famous Italian landmark is the Colosseum. Learn more about it on this video:



- Add the Leaning Tower of Pisa & the Colosseum Landmark Cards to the Famous Landmarks Pocket of your lapbook.


Day 3

- Read about Leonardo DaVinci, a famous artist from Italy. Add him to your Famous People Trading Cards Pocket in your lapbook.

- Read Katie and the Mona Lisa to learn more about this famous painting by Leonardo DaVinci.

Day 4


- Choose a few animals from Expedition Earth: Animals of Italy to add to your "Animals of the World" Mini Book.

- Cook up some authentic Italian food!

Day 2

- Learn about the Running of the Bulls, a famous event in Spain.

Day 3

- Read about animals in Spain (Southern Europe) in the Animal Atlas, pg. 32-33. Choose a few animals from Expedition: Earth Animals of Spain to add to an "Animals of the World" Mini Book for your lapbook.

- Make your own Spanish band by crafting both a Clicking Button Castanet & some Maracas.

- Explore some art by Picasso, a famous artist from Spain. Add Picasso to the Famous People Trading Cards set in your lapbook.


Day 4

- Finish off your study of Spain by cooking up some delicious Spanish food.

- Read a book from the Additional Reading List.



Day 3

- Learn about the Eiffel Tower.

- Craft: Paper Model of the Eiffel Tower

- Begin another lapbook element: Famous Landmarks Pocket. Create the Pocket, then add the Eiffel Tower Landmark Card .


Day 4

Read about animals in France in the Animal Atlas, pg. 30-33.
Choose a few animals from: Expedition Earth Animals of France to add to an “Animals of the World” mini book for your lapbook.

- Bake crepes with bananas & chocolateIf you would like, copy the recipe onto a small card to add to a “Cooking Around the World” mini book for your lapbook.


- Read another book from the additional reading list.
